Agents joining meetings

Enable agents to join native Bridge meetings as voice participants, choose when they join, set their voice, and control how they activate.

Agent meeting access

Agents can join meetings hosted on Bridge as voice participants. Enabling Join meetings and talk lets an agent enter a meeting, listen, and speak. After enabling it, choose when the agent joins, which voice it uses, and how it activates during the meeting.

Enable an agent to join meetings and talk

When creating or editing an agent, enable Join meetings and talk in the agent settings. This grants join and speaking permissions and unlocks meeting-specific options.

Open agent settings

Go to Account → Agents, then open the agent.

Enable join and talk

Toggle Give agent ability to join meetings and talk. This sets both join and speaking permissions.

Set a join policy

Choose when the agent should join meetings. See When agents join meetings for the available policies.

Choose a voice

Select a voice from the available options. Preview each voice before choosing one.

Save

Save the agent. The meeting options take effect for future native Bridge meetings.

Define when agents join meetings

Only when invited: The agent does not enter a meeting automatically. Explicitly invite it from the Participants panel, the meeting Assistant, or the agent's profile. This is the default policy.

Every meeting: The agent joins automatically when a native Bridge meeting starts, unless you remove it within Briefs for that specific meeting.

How to invite an agent to a meeting

If an agent uses the Only when invited policy, bring it into a meeting in any of these ways:

  • Briefs: In the Participants tab of pre-meeting Briefs, find the Agents section, invite or remove agents that are eligible to join meetings.
  • Meeting Participants panel: In the meeting's Participants tab, select the invite field, scroll to the Agents section. Select the agent and then click Invite to add the agent to the meeting.
  • Meeting Assistant: Type an @mention for the agent in the meeting Assistant. If the agent is invite-only and not yet in the call, a prompt to Bring @handle into the call appears. Click Invite to add it.
  • Agent profile: Open the agent's profile dialog. If a live meeting is in progress, select Invite to live meeting. You can also start a new call directly with the agent from the profile.

When agents activate during a meeting

After an agent joins a meeting, choose when it speaks. The available activation modes determine whether the agent responds to meeting context or to its name.

Proactively: The agent speaks when the meeting context matches its configured trigger. Set an activation summary and a cooldown from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to control how often it speaks. Proactive activation only applies when the agent is already available in the meeting. It does not cause the agent to join automatically.

Called by name: The agent activates when someone says its name during the meeting. The agent must already be a voice participant in the call. Mentioning the agent by name in the meeting Assistant sends a message to the agent and may offer to invite it, but does not activate it as a voice participant by itself.

Proactive and called-by-name triggers are activation modes, not invitation methods. An agent must already be in the meeting before either mode takes effect.

Agents that are invited to join meetings can be interacted with by any participants on the meeting. Agents are hardwired to not respond to other agents at this time.

Hearing and screen access

Hearing and screen access are optional capabilities that give an agent richer meeting context. They are not required for an agent to join and talk. All agents can read the meeting transcript by default.

Hearing access: Lets the agent hear meeting audio and detect sound, tone, and sentiment. Hearing access is available in native Bridge meetings and in-person capture sessions.

Screen access: Lets the agent see participant video tiles and screen-sharing content. Screen access is available only in native Bridge meetings.

Hearing and screen access are limited to native Bridge meetings and in-person capture. Agents cannot see or hear through Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams meetings.

External meetings

For meetings hosted on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, the Bridge Agent joins according to your account auto-join settings or manual invitations. The Bridge Agent is not the same as your custom workspace agents.
