AgentsCreate an agent

Create and edit agents

Agents are AI teammates that can be created for any use case, complete with an identity, instructions, tools, abilities, triggers, and more.

Create and edit a custom agent by working through four wizard steps: Identity, Abilities, Tools, and Triggers.

Creating and using agents requires a paid plan. See Billing.

Open the wizard

Select Create Agent from the sidebar or from Account settings → Agents.

Identity

Name your agent, choose an avatar, write instructions, pick a personality, and optionally start from a template.

Abilities

Turn on hearing access, screen access, or the ability to join meetings and talk. All agents have the ability to read transcripts by default.

Tools

Enable web search, notes search, memory FAQs search, and access to your connected tools.

Triggers

Choose when the agent activates: @mention, proactively during meetings, by name, after every meeting, or on a schedule.

Save

The agent appears under Agents and can be activated via the @ handle in the Assistant or will activate automatically depending on the enabled triggers.

Here's what's available in each step.

Identity

Name your agent, tell it what to do, and choose how it presents itself.

  • Starter templates: When creating a new agent, Bridge shows six random templates from a pool of 20, including Deal Coach, Facilitator, and Fact Checker. Selecting one pre-populates the name, instructions, avatar, and some tool and trigger settings.
  • Avatar: Choose a preset avatar, add an emoji, or upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image up to 2 MB. Remove the avatar to return to the default.
  • Name: Enter a required name of up to 60 characters. Bridge generates an @handle preview below the field.
  • Instructions: Enter up to 4,000 required characters describing what the agent should do, its role, and its constraints.
  • Personality: Select a personality that will affect the tone and style of the agent's responses.
  • Visibility: Turn on Hide from workspace sidebar to keep the agent private to you.

Abilities

Control what the agent can perceive and do with meeting data.

  • Read transcripts: This is always enabled. Every agent can access meeting transcripts by default.
  • Hearing access: Let the agent hear audio so it can detect sound, tone, and sentiment. This applies to native Bridge meetings, in-person capture, and meeting recaps.
  • Screen access: Let the agent see participants and screen sharing in real time. This applies to native Bridge meetings and meeting recaps.
  • Join meetings and talk: Let the agent join Bridge meetings as a voice participant. When enabled, configure the following options:
    • Join policy options:
      • Only join when invited: invitations can be sent through a Brief before meetings or during meetings from the participant invite field, Assistant, or agent profile.
      • Join every meeting.
    • Voice: Pick from available voices. Each voice includes a label, description, gender, and play button for preview.
    • AI badge: This is always displayed. Meeting participants see an "AI" badge on the agent.

Tools

Turn on the built-in capabilities the agent can use when responding.

  • Web search: Let the agent look up information on the web.
  • Notes search: Let the agent search previous notes for context. See Notetaking.
  • Memory FAQs search: Let the agent search your saved FAQ pairs for consistent answers. See FAQs.
  • Connectors: Let the agent use your connected integrations, including calendars, CRMs, and productivity apps. Connected tools can be selected, while unconnected ones are disabled. Connect apps first in Integrations.

Triggers

Control when the agent activates. Every agent responds to @mention by default; the other triggers are optional.

  • Tagged in Assistant (@): This is always enabled. The agent responds when you type its @handle in chat.
  • Scheduled: Run the agent on a recurring schedule. Set the interval, time, start date, end date, and timezone. A next-occurrence preview confirms the timing. See agentic workflows.
  • Proactively during meetings: Let the agent monitor the conversation and contribute privately through the Assistant or on the meeting (when the Join meetings and talk ability is enabled). Set a cooldown of 30s, 45s, 60s, 2min, or 5min to control how often it speaks.
    • Optionally enter a custom activation trigger of up to 1,200 characters describing when it should jump in. Leave the field blank to generate the trigger from the instructions.
  • When mentioned by name: Activate the agent when someone says its name during a meeting. This requires the Join meetings and talk ability.
  • After every meeting: Run the agent automatically against the recap and transcript as soon as the meeting ends. See agentic workflows.
